# Fees and limits

> What a trade or a transfer costs, and how much can move.

## Trade fees

| Fee | Amount | Who pays |

| Protocol fee | `fee_bps` of the order, taken from the released USDC. Set to 0 during the pilot | Taker |
| LP spread | The difference between the LP's rate and the market rate | Built into the rate |
| Stellar network fee | Paid by Pesa's relay through a fee-bump | Pesa |
| Payment provider fee | Whatever the provider charges the payer | Payer |

## Transfer fees

## Limits

Registered LPs are exempt from the retail order quota. Each route also has a `min` and `max` returned by [`GET /v1/routes`](/api-reference/routes).
